And Cebu has been at the top in terms of destinations within the country. The Top 12 source countries to Cebu in 2010 were: Korea, USA, Japan, China, Australia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, UK, Malaysia, and Germany. Ecotourists spend on average $90/day versus $60/day for a typical beach tourist.

Cebu is blessed with at least two “sunshine industries: Tourism and the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). As it happens, these two will synergistically affect potential businesses that would be perfect for this Olango location. One idea is a tourism resort while the other could be a luxury retirement condo complex. And as more hospitals gain their international accreditations, a third potential could be the Medical Tourism sector. !
Perfect for a tranquil resort or ecotourism adventure location. Whatever your plans are, this is an opportunity at the right place, and right time!

Where is Talima Marine Sanctuary?
The famous Talima Marine Sanctuary is one of the gems of Cebu. It is located offshore and away from the population of Cebu, yet you can be diving it within an hour of landing in the Philippines. Talima Marine Sanctuary is a gorgeous dive site and protected area located in the tropical waters off the West coast of Olango Island, between it and Mactan Island.
What do we see at Talima Marine Sanctuary?
Talima is known for it’s plummeting deep wall, abundance of tropical fish, and a small shipwreck at 18 meters. A wide variety of marine life including pipefish, frogfish, razorfish, and triggerfish populate a wide coral slope that abruptly ends at 18 meters deep- dropping down to 45-50m.
This creates a fantastic place to dive- especially on a drift. The Talima Marine Sanctuary is one of our favorite diver training sites, due to the close proximity of vastly different terrain and wildlife.
What are the conditions at Talima Marine Sanctuary?
The visibility at Talima Marine Sanctuary is usually pretty good- between 20 and 30 meters. Of course there are some great days when it gets up to 40m- and some days, particularly after a large storm, where the visibility may briefly drop to around 10-12m. There can be some current at Talima Marine Sanctuary- especially out along the wall. This makes Talima is a stunning place to do your Drift Adventure dive from the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course.
